Cool Stock Tweets #15
This week’s newsletter is sponsored by TIKR and EdmundSEC! Here are some of our favorite tweets of the week:
$RCM looks interesting given a concrete near term catalyst. Calls look interesting too; think they are a bit mis-priced. Would be a 4x at a reasonable scenario of like $15+ bid.
The main downside/risk is that I am not really sure why management would sell from a self-interest… x.com/i/web/status/1…

We have owned $GEO for over 18 months so of course we agree w/ Citron.
But lets not forget about $EVLV and the real security solutions they provide. They benefit from these horrible federal policy choices too (sadly).

Millions who have used Ozempic and other GLP-1 drugs to lose weight are now faced with sagging skin. This has turned into a gold mine for plastic surgeons. @g0ingmad@ashleighfurlong & @naomikresgebloomberg.com/news/articles/…

$GRND users spend 1 hour / day on the app. Avg Instagram user spends 30 mins. GRND users also avg $128k in median hh income vs total pop avg of $75k. Seems like some real structural reasons for this app to grow for a while.

$FMBL also stepping up the buybacks. 121,311 shares now vs. 121,970 at 3/31/24. And, a snippet from the proxy that I recently received suggests they want to accelerate things:

When execs of profitable, dirt cheap companies with zero reinvestment opportunities say,
"we can't repurchase shares, our trading volume/float is too small"
Refer to $GAMI
Past 15 months, GAMI repurchased 68% of all shares traded, reducing float by 31%
It can be done

Great strategy for finding under-followed accounts w/ actual alpha: when something like $RGS occurs, look back through twitter at who was long and when. If the story played out as predicted, they are worth a follow!

It is well worth watching what this company - $9166.JP Genda - is doing. Just a roll-up of arcades, karaokes and related stuff, but with Japanese cost of capital and very consciously using stock price arbitrage to grow (ie using its high multiple currency to acquire cheaper… x.com/i/web/status/1…

Cover (TYO 5253) writeup is up on the Sub'stack. Free to all. Link in bio. While not a deep value name, this is an interesting growth company in the rapidly growing VTuber industry. VTubers may look weird, but they're becoming mainstream, even in the West. I own a full size pos.

Interesting to see $TSCO backtrack on some recent "woke" initiatives
Seems like more companies are going back to their roots of serving customers instead of political virtue signaling
